Product Review: Coffee Crazy's Organic Fair Trade French Roast, Columbian Coffee, and Espresso Blends

As a student, wife, mother, and part-time bookseller/substitute teacher, I have to be awake and alert most of the day and often into the evening. So, it is safe to assume that I am very fond of coffee and need it on a constant basis throughout the day (yay for those recent studies that say coffee is good for you). 
I want a strong, dark, and flavorful brew that is also product conscious. A coffee that is both organic and fair trade makes me feel better about where my money goes.

My Observations:

The first thing I noticed about this coffee when opening the sealed package was the burst of nutty aroma that came from the package. The fragrance was strong and pleasing, illustrating a good and deep roast of the beans.  The beans were also dark, evenly sized and colored and had a shining appearance, releasing those fragrant oils. I used a coarse grind for my regular drip coffee maker and the grind produced amazing results.

 I did four scoops with a six cup water prep and this produced my perfect cup of coffee, dark, but not overly bitter, fragrant, and maintaining that nutty taste/smell throughout. The coffee was delightfully aromatic, tasted fresh, and provided that energy I need on a daily basis. 

Overall, This French Roast is sufficiently dark, very fresh, roasted perfectly and a wonderful addition to your morning coffee routine. I think the high quality of beans and a careful preparation results in a great cup of coffee that is socially conscious and does not carry the weight of unknown pesticides.

Here are my thoughts:
1. like the other coffee, these beans are high quality and produce a lovely and deep aroma. The espresso blend is a little lighter and less oily than the French roast, but produces a wonderfully pleasing fine grind when you need espresso for lattes, mochas, or just plain shots.  I would also recommend this if you were looking for a dark daily coffee, you can easily grind it to fit your paper coffee filters and it produces a strong, but smooth cup.  Again I love the fair trade and organic aspect of this coffee and for the price, you are getting an amazing deal. 

 Now it is time to talk about my favorite of this whole experiment.... Colombian Coffee

This brew wins for the most fragrant and best aroma while producing a wonderfully amazing and complex cup. I used this in a French Press and a regular Coffee Maker to amazing results. The dark coffee is not as dark as the French Roast, but still has a strong and pleasing taste. I could smell this blend all day. It produced an amazingly strong, but smooth cup that resulted in the drinking of an entire 4 Cup French Press batch last time I had it.  The beans grind well and just make the entire kitchen smell amazing while in the process.  Just an amazing product.

I have embraced less intensive exercise over the last few years because with having RA, too intense equals pain and damage to my joints. Yoga is a great and relaxing alternative to some other rigorous forms of exercise and it keeps me calm, even during stressful school semesters.

The towel is versatile and very soft. I used it with a traditional yoga mat and as a stand alone on my carpet (I prefer the stand alone because bulky yoga mats are a pain and since I do my routine on the carpet, it provides ample cushion).  The towel comes in a neutral deep gray color that I found very pleasing. It will go with any yoga mat and not clash.

First...

This towel is designed for yoga mats up to 24x72 in size. This is perfect for your average sized person and I had no issues with staying on the towel at all. The grips work amazingly well with the mats and once I set the towel down and stretched it to cover the mat, it stayed in place and provided an extra soft workspace. As a standalone on carpet, the towel also performs exceptionally well, it provides a soft base and the grips also work well to hold the towel's place on the carpet, which was awesome!

This towel also has another great feature that will be helpful for my readers who practice yoga in a classroom or studio environment and use studio provided mats.  The towel helps protect the user from the spread of germs. The grips and the fabrics provide a thin, but useful layer of protection for your skin while on another mat.

Overall I found the towel to be soft, well made, and very versatile. Its light weight means that your routine will not have added bulk when already carrying a mat and if you are practicing yoga at home, you can use the towel on carpet for great results.

I use headphones every single day and I like in-ear sets that are comfortable, secure, and sound great...

1. The earbuds are quite comfortable, the earpiece has a unique design that not only sits in your ear more securely, but feels comfortable against the skin. To ensure great wear and a perfect fit, the earbuds come with three sizes of outer cases and outdoor stabilizers to ensure that the buds stay in place regardless of how rigorous your activity is. I found this to be very useful because I have unusually small ears, and thus some brands of earbuds just do not fit in my ears... I did not have this problem with the Silicon Devices pair.

2. The Bluetooth function on the headphones is pretty easy to operate. Holding the neon green button on the side of your buds activates the bluetooth and it connected with ease to my iphone6 and my ipad mini. The sound was amazing and the connection was strong. I have never had a problem with static or interruption of sound while using the treadmill with these buds. 

3. The buds also come with a well made charging cord and a very nice case for the system. I love the case because it protects my entire set of buds when I am on the go. The case is a real bonus. 

4. Besides Security, sound is a priority... these earbuds have volume buttons on the sides of the headphones, which makes changing the volume during your daily workout much easier than fumbling for your phone and having to stop just to make the music louder or softer. 

It is important to note that this set also has a built in microphone and so you can also use these to answer your phone while running...not interrupting your routine.


Overall I found these headphones to be solid, durable, the provided good sound and comfort while also making the daily workout less of a hassle.

Beauty Product Review: Skin QR Organics' NuElle Triple Action Cellulite Firming Concentrate

While it is easy to wax poetic about growing old gracefully and embracing a new vision of what is beautiful, many of us still put on wrinkle cream every night and partake in a beauty regiment that at least makes us feel like we are preserving our youth... I am no different.  I want to look as young as I feel damnit!

Today I am looking at an anti-cellulite firming cream that promises to turn back the hands of time by making your skin appear firm and melting cellulite away.  Here are my results after a few weeks of use.

Here are my impressions...

NuElle Concentrate boasts twenty-five flub busters to help melt fat away and leave a younger and more toned area of skin. It is recommended for areas with cellulite like the stomach, buttocks, and thigh area and suggests you rub the cream over the desired area once a day one hour before a meal or two hours after. The bottle speaks of a "sauna" effect that will help burn away fat and warns of excess sweating in applied areas. The ingredients include fat burning materials such as caffeine and ivy along with some other things I have never heard of. 

1. The texture of the concentrate is pleasant and easy for application, it is not overly greasy and absorbs pretty quickly, meaning you do not have greasy hands for a long time afterwards. 
2. The fragrance is light and fresh, there is a clean, almost cucumber/lemon hint to the smell that left me pleased with its results, I loathe overly fragrant or oddly smelling creams.
3. The cream does have the effect of warming the treated area, but I did not find it unpleasant or notice any odd sweating, so application was easy and without real problem.  I actually enjoyed the warming effect.
4. OK, now to the important part...results.  My skin definitely felt smoother after a few applications and I think there were some results, but I think something like this is only an assistant to other efforts of maintaining a healthy lifestyle... this is not going to loose weight or fat for you, it helps in smoothing out rough or flabby skin and does a nice job while also leaving your skin soft and silky.

As a bonus, the package included a lovely organic day cream with cucumber as a sample and I loved it as well...it also had a fresh scent and made my face feel soft and smooth.

This is a stainless steel scraper with an easy to grip plastic handle. I found the scraper to be strong and made of a heavy enough material not to bend or break easily. The scraper is amazing and has a number of uses. First, if you are a baker, this scraper is able to make perfect sized scones and slices in dough. The handy ruler etched into the metal also makes creating perfectly uniform sized biscuits, cookies, pasta, and scones a cinch. The graded edge of the scraper also assists in removing tricky doughs from sticky surfaces.
As a scraper this item is wonderful. It enables you to get large amounts of chopped vegetables, meats, nuts, candies, anything you need in a recipe...in place without any mess.
For $7.95 this is a steal and comparable to some of the more expensive scrapers out there!


We make a ton of eggs and lots of pancakes at our house. I believe breakfast is an important part of a balanced diet and toast does not always do the trick. The guys at Sunsella have also made practical and easy to use silicone egg/pancake rings. I have used these rings for almost a month now and I found them to be both durable and easy to use. My results are not always the same, but I will go into that....

Each egg / pancake ring set comes with four rings, enabling you to complete multiple projects at once. I found this to be very helpful when cooking breakfast for all three of us in our house and the versatility of the rings enables me to make eggs and pancakes in the same pan without them blending together. What I really enjoyed about these rings is the stainless steel handle on the side of the ring with the convenient and smart silicone safety handle at the top, which means you will not have to worry about burning your hand while making breakfast. The handle also enabled me to pull the rings off without messing up the egg or pancake inside. These rings are BPA free and are non-stick and non-scratch, though I did find that in order to ensure that your eggs will not stick, I would use a cooking spray. The pancakes always came out perfect, but I had eggs stick a few times. Overall I found these rings to be overwhelmingly helpful when I want to multitask and make two things at once in the same pan. 

Finally... Sunsella did some great and colorful Buddy Bento Lunch boxes and they are easy to use and adorable.
I know it sounds crazy...but my toddler is not a baby anymore and has graduated from one-day a week "mommy's day outs" to 2K this year and I will have to pack him snacks and lunch on a daily basis. These boxes are just amazing for toddler sized meals.

I love these boxes and they are my absolute favorite thing that I have tested from the awesome folks at Sunsella. I found them perfect for an Aiden sized lunch which usually includes a sandwich, goldfish, and a fruit of some sort. Each box has three containers, One large, one medium, and one small. 
The total Dimensions are: Length 9.5 x width 6.2 x height 2.2 inches - 1st compartment: 3 1/2 cups, 2nd compartment: 1 1/3 cups, 3rd compartment: 1 cup. Product Review: Eco Defense Pest Repeller

As Summer really ramps up here in Georgia, the problems with all types of animals attempting to get to cooler climates translates into having to battle with them getting under the house and into the laundry room. We once tried a less than friendly way of doing things and using rat poison, which dehydrated the rats...and led to a chewed through pipe, which had to be replaced at a pretty considerable cost...so now we look for more humane and natural ways to deter unwanted visitors.

The Repellent claims to deter rats, deer, squirrels, moles, gophers, and other pests... we mainly deal with mice, rats, and squirrels here and so these results are based from those animals.

1. This stuff does not smell good, so I would not recommend spraying it in your house. We sprayed it under our house and near entrances to under the house in order to deter the pests...it is not made to go inside a home where humans commonly go.

2. It works very well... we had a decrease in critter activity almost immediately and more were caught by our pets in the yard. We sprayed the areas once (though it recommends for heavy infestations to spray twice a week) and will maintain the spray once a month... I will post back if anything changes, but I have heard less critters under the house and seen more caught in the yard by our pups. 

3. The spray is not toxic to plants or flowers... I had no problems when I sprayed it near flower beds or things I was growing... it did not brown the grass or even show any signs of it being there...beyond the odor. 


Overall I found this 100% natural and organic alternative to toxic chemicals worked amazingly well and feel more comfortable with something all natural in my yard when I have pets, a garden, and a child running around.

The Bru Joy Milk frother is very easy to use, light, and made with sturdy stainless steel. I like that the device has two different speed settings. I start out with the low setting and then move it up to the higher setting once the milk has frothed slightly. The Bru Joy is very easy to use and handles the milk well making an excellent amount of foam in a small amount of time. It makes brewing your own espresso and coffee beverages at home simple.

This bottle is 50ml of nerve pain cream made with natural ingredients. The cream incorporate Vitamins B12 and E and provides it in a topical manner to assist in nerve pain with a natural alternative to medicines or oral vitamins. The cream is not overly oily, goes on smooth, and has no noticeable fragrance, which is great for people who do not like overly fragrant products or have fragrance issues.

Results:
I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and deal with a consistent amount of pain and stiffness in all of my joints, I used this cream on my hands for two weeks every day.
 I found that the two daily pumps helps relieve soreness in my muscles and did have some positive effects throughout the period. Each morning I simply pumped two measures out and rubbed it into my skin. The natural ingredients ensure that the cream absorbs quickly without being greasy or leaving my skin dry, the natural moisturizers actually left my skin feeling very soft and I think that is an added bonus.

I recommend this product to anyone who works a lot at a computer, I think this would be very beneficial because we give our nerves a huge workout daily without very much relief.  

The natural ingredients are also a welcomed bonus... many pain creams/medications are filled with harsh chemicals you cannot even name, but Vita Sciences uses all natural substances like Coconut Oil, Aloe, and natural vitamins.
